LANDSCAPES OF THE SOUL

"As a choreographer I wish to manifest the nature of human experience by revealing the possibility of attaining and cultivating new degrees of awareness.

My work is an attempt to operate as bridge-builder between worlds: the sentient body and dimensions of consciousness, and the inner landscapes of the one dancing and the one observing; establishing a communication of intimate character.

This is achieved in the choreographic process, deepening into observation of the sentient body through affect, intuition and visualization. Working with trance like states is part of this process of journeying throuh further landscapes of narrative: landscapes of the soul.

I view the body in movement as a transparent entity transforming itself and the world it acts upon.

I envision our thoughts and emotions as landscapes of narrative and see our living body, moving, dancing in that geography of past and future projections and present sensations.

Stillness forms part of this process of “constant becoming”, as there is no absolute stillness in our sentient body."
